Principal's Message

Greetings and welcome to Pleasant Gardens Elementary School, the home of the Indians! I cannot begin to express how excited I am to begin this school year with such an amazing staff, wonderful group of students and parents, as well as a community committed to the success of our school.
I am also thrilled that you have decided to view our school’s website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff, and programs we have to offer. As you peruse our website you will notice that all of our teachers have created and maintain a webpage to keep parents informed of news relevant to their classrooms.  I encourage you to view the website often for important news and updates.
At Pleasant Gardens, you will find staff members committed to providing students with innovative, rigorous and engaging lessons following the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.  Our school community is dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded educational experience including music and visual arts. While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education and exposure to the technologies in order to prepare students to become future ready with a college and/or career focus in which to become lifelong learners.  It is never too early to help students prepare for their future.
We encourage you to visit our beautiful school and see that we are a school committed to children and families.  You will find that this is a vibrant and engaging community of teachers and learners. To our parents, we believe that your involvement is an essential component to the academic success of your child.   We encourage you to visit our website often, meet with your child’s teacher and to get involved in all that Pleasant Gardens has to offer. Your participation in our school is needed and greatly appreciated!
I look forward to partnering with you on behalf of our future leaders. Together, We Can…We Will…No Excuses!
Mrs. Melissa Elliott, Principal
