Hello! I am thrilled to be working with your children here at Pleasant Gardens Elementary School this year. I have recently moved to the area and live in Lake Lure. My husband and I love living in North Carolina. Watching the seasons change is one of our favorite things! Surprisingly, I have never lived where seasons really change before, and I am finding a lot of joy in watching the world renew itself.
I grew up in California, which is where I first began teaching. After teaching there for several years, my husband accepted a position overseas and we began moving all over the world. I have been fortunate enough to teach at some really fantastic schools and I bring that experience and knowledge here to benefit your children. One thing that all families want for their children is to see them do well, and I firmly believe that all children can succeed.
My husband and I have three children. Our eldest is Sarah and she is a writer. Our son, Tom, is a policeman in Norfolk, Va. The youngest, Katie, is working at a vet hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Is your child a Warrior? We are working on learning multiplication facts through 10 with 100% accuracy. It is quite the challenge and one worthy of a warrior. If your child reaches this goal by Monday, November 21st, he or she will be invited to go to the park for a hot dog roast with Mr. Robertson as chef. Should your child not become a warrior by then, there will be another chance early next year. Keep working on those multiplication facts! The end result is worth all the hard work.
I can tell that many of you have been helping your child with learning his or her facts! The children are growing leaps and bounds in their knowledge and ability to recite the multiplication facts. Thank you for your help and support.
